International students (including group students) must have appropriate and current medical and travel insurance while in New Zealand.
Professional health care in New Zealand is not free to international students. We reccommend you ultilize Southern Cross Travel Insurance for International Students which we can arrange for you.
The Code of Practice for Pastoral Care of International Students requires international students in New Zealand on a student visa to have travel and medical insurance for the duration of their student visa.
Kalandra Education Group will include in your offer letter the approximate cost for travel and medical insurance with Southern Cross Travel Insurance. Your travel and medical insurance will cover the cost of treatment in New Zealand for the duration of your programme. Your claim form will be emailed to you and copies will be available from the Pastoral Care Officer. Kalandra Education Group will help you find an appropriate medical provider and assist you with completing your claim form should you need to make one. Drop your claim form to us and we will scan it and send it to Southern Cross on your behalf. They will pay it into your bank account promptly and will get back to you should they need further clarification with your claim form. Remember to attach all your receipts from both the doctor and chemist.
