Protection of the Vulnerable

Protection of the Vulnerable
$80.00 NZD

The vulnerable person can be anyone who needs help / care and it is easy to be placed or enter into this position.

This module explains vulnerability, the signs of this and what may happen. Abuse of all sorts can occur, and it is important that carers be alert for and recognise this, then know what to do.

Some of the most vulnerable patients are those that exhibit challenging behaviours, such as those with dementia, brain injury and neurological conditions. The behaviour is often misunderstood and poorly responded to.

This module explains why challenging behaviour may be occurring and how to minimise or change the behaviour.

It also explores how the carer can look after themselves.

This module is delivered online and is learner driven. There is no maximum time required to complete the set learning hours.

Estimated number of hours: 10 - 15 hours theory and counts for 12 hours of professional development hours. No assessment is provided.
