In this course you will learn about the most important facets of supporting those people who need support in one or more areas of their lives. 

In this course you will learn the following:

  • The value of your role as a volunteer
  • How to create and maintain a safe and healthy work environment
  • How to prevent the spreading of infections
  • How to assist people in moving safely
  • How to provide people with personal care based on their individual needs
  • How to communicate well and effectively with different people
  • About nutritional requirements and assisting people with eating and drinking
  • About the impact of culture on support
  • How to maximise a person's well-being and quality of life

 

 

This module is delivered online and is learner driven. There is no maximum time required to complete the set learning hours.  

 

Estimated number of hours: 3 hours theory. No assessment is provided.
